Enrolment for Dogathon - Charity Walk Participation
- Application enrolment deadline is 28 March 2025 (Friday).
- Application can be submitted online OR by mail.
- Upon receipt of enrolment form, an “Official Confirmation with check-in QR code” email will be sent to all participants.
- The SPCA (HK) reserves the right of any changes and cancellation without prior notice. For the cancellation of the event due to bad weather or other unforeseeable reasons, all sponsorship payments and donations will NOT be refunded.
Fundraising & Donations
- Sponsorship paid at time of enrolment is minimum only. Participants are encouraged to raise more sponsorship by inviting family, friends and colleagues to support you or your team in the Dogathon 2025. The deadline for Top 10 Fundraising Ranking will be finalised on 3 April 2025 at 23:59
- For online donations of HK$100 or above, a donation e-receipt will be sent to the donor by email.
- For offline donations of HK$100 or above, a donation receipt will be posted to the donor’s address on or before 31 May 2025.
- This is a fundraising event for animal welfare, please spread positivity and advocate for better animal welfare only and refrain from using the platform for any agenda other than animal welfare. All details provided by participants must not contain hate, discriminatory, sexual or illegal information or messages, and if found to violate the rule, we have the right to remove the content and disqualify the team from winning Top 10 fundraisers without prior notice.
Rules & Regulations
- All participants will be allocated a start time between 09:30am and 11:30am. Please report to registration desk 30 mins before your start time. Late registration will not be accepted.
- The Pet Festival will open at 10:30am at Sha Tin Racecourse. All enrolled charity walkers have been pre-registered. Attendees joining the Pet Festival only need to get an entry ticket in advance or on the day of event. Each entry ticket costs HK$20.
- All participating dogs must be at least 5 months old and in good health. Dogs in heat will not be admitted.
- All participating dogs must be microchipped and fully vaccinated against rabies.
- During the event, dogs showing signs of distress such as elevated heart rate and hyperventilation will be seen by the SPCA veterinary surgeon. If deemed necessary by the veterinary surgeon, the dog will be asked to withdraw.
- Owners must manage their dogs at all times. All dogs must be leashed.
- Be a responsible dog owner, clean up after your dog to keep the venue clean.
- During the event period, in case of accidents caused by their pets, pet owners are liable to the concerned parties and will be responsible for all medical and other expenses related to the accident.
- The SPCA does not recommend owners to dress up their dogs as this may restrict movement or lead to overheating.
- The SPCA, its sponsors, contractors, employees, members, representatives and volunteers will not be responsible for any accidents or injuries to any participants, spectators, nor their dogs during the event.
- By enrolling in this event, participants agree to indemnify the SPCA, its sponsors, contractors, employees, members, representatives and volunteers against all damages and claims which may arise.
- The SPCA and sponsors are irrevocably granted the right to photograph participants and their dogs and have their name, voice, likeness and appearance made into photographs, sound, videos or multi-media recordings ("Recording") and to use the Recording in perpetuity throughout the world, in all media now known or hereafter devised for any purpose, whether in advertising or for purposes of trade or otherwise. Participants must acknowledge and agree that no payment or other compensation shall be payable by Organiser or Venue Sponsor in connection with the Recording or any use thereof.
- Participants must adhere to the SPCA’s rules and regulations. The SPCA reserves the right to refuse entry to any person or animal to the event, or request any person or animal to leave the event, without refund of paid fees.
- Should the event be cancelled due to weather or other circumstances beyond the control of the Organiser or in the case of a force majeure resulting in the event being cancelled, no fee is refundable. Force majeure includes and is not limited to the Organiser being unable to perform its obligations or organise or hold the event due to fire, flood, earthquake, or other severe natural disaster, civil disobedience, war, epidemic, or government intervention or the likelihood of such event or act.
- The decision of the SPCA in respect of any matters of the event shall be final.
Severe Weather
- If Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is hoisted at any time from 6:00pm on the day before event, the event will be cancelled.
- If the Black or Red Rainstorm Signal is hoisted at any time from 6:00am on the event day, the event will be cancelled.
- In the event of cancellation due to bad weather or other unforeseeable reasons, an announcement will be made before 6:00am on the day of the walk on our website www.spca.org.hk and Facebook.
- For the cancellation of the event due to bad weather or other unforeseeable reasons, all sponsorship, transportation fee and donation will go to the fund for animal welfare efforts of the SPCA.
